Al Jazeera America (AJAM) was an American disburse television information control owned by the Al Jazeera Media Network. The channel was launched on August 20, 2013 to vie with CNN, HLN, MSNBC, Fox information, and in certain market, RT America. It was Al Jazeera’s next admission into the U.S. television market, after the launch of beIN Sports in 2012. The channel, which had tirelessly low ratings, announce in January 2016 that it would shut on April 12, 2016, citing the “financial landscape”.Al Jazeera America was headquartered and run from studios on the first ground of the Manhattan Center in New York City.
